Hey, everybody, Dr. Sam here, another EyeClarity Podcast. Today I want to talk about what is the mindset that you need to really improve your vision. I’m broadcasting here from Santa Fe National Forest, taking a break from my long hike today. And I want to talk about mindset. So I’ll preface this by sharing a story. About a year ago, there was a man who contacted me. And he had a high amount of myopia, like minus seven in each eye. And he wanted to know how he could improve his vision. So right off the bat, he said he couldn’t really afford my fee. And so I said, Okay, you know, what can you pay? And I gave him an hour of my time. And about a month later, he emailed me and said, Okay, I want to get a reduced prescription. Can you make that up for me? And so I gave him the price.
And he said, You know, I can’t afford that. So I gave him a really deep discount. He also wanted the blue blocker on it. So I made it up for him. And he got the prescription. And he sent me an email saying that he’s really disappointed because I didn’t put the blue blocker on the lenses, he can’t see out of the lenses. And he’s really upset at me. So I went, Okay, well, let me call my lab. And sure enough, we did put the blue protect on the lenses. And like I do with my community, I asked them to take a look at all my videos, because I did a video on the difference between a blue blocking filter, which is what I use, and a blue blocking tint. So I wrote him and said, You know, I use a blue blocking filter, I put it on the back of the lens, it has UV protection, it also cuts out most of the glare.
But it doesn’t create an imbalance of color that comes into the eyes, like a tint. So to note, when you get an orange or yellow, tinted blue blocker, what this actually does, is when you look through it, it makes things too dark to see it dilates the pupil, so the damaging light that you don’t want to come into your eyes is going to come in, because it dilates the pupil, the bigger the pupil, the more the light is going to get in, so you don’t want that. And that creates an imbalance of color coming into the eyes and treating people with light and color for over three decades. You don’t want to be looking through a tinted lens, that’s going to create an imbalance of color into your eyes and into your body.
All right, I explained that to him. And I said, you know, I could remake the lenses, we could use a different material. But honestly, I don’t think it’s going to make a difference. And you got to put some skin in the game here. And this is the mindset. The mindset is, if you want to work with me, and you want to reduce your myopia, the only way you’re going to really be able to do that is by doing the physical eye therapy exercises, you got to do the work, you got to spend 20 to 30 minutes every day, interacting with my process, so that you learn about your habits, your belief systems, your conditioning that created the prescription in your eyes to begin with. And furthermore, if you think that just getting a reduced prescription is the way to improve your vision, you are going to fail. And uh, you’re sorely mistaken in how you go about this. And I explained this at the session. Well, the guy took it in, you know, and I also said, You need to make a financial commitment here.

I definitely gave you a break, but you got to quit complaining. And you got to get with the program. Because if you do not commit body and mind and spirit, you’re right. You’re going to be miserable. You’re going to be negative, you’re going to be complaining, but it’s not my fault. I’m just here to show you the way you got to sign up. You got to show go up, and you got to do the work. So he digested that, and I said, this prescription that I made up for you, is reduced. And as I said to you during the session, and as I say, a million times on my content, that you start wearing a reduced prescription, in non demanding, and non threatening situations, so that if you start feeling frustrated in the blurriness, then either you change lenses and you put on something stronger, so you can see, or you work with it, you embrace the blur, you learn about your mental conditioning, and the associations you’ve made in blurry vision.
You know, working with 1000s of people over the years and myopia, the biggest hurdle for them to overcome is to use a different metric, then, things are getting better, because I’m seeing things more clearly. That metric is really the last thing that you want to look at. Because nearsightedness is about tension that one carries in the eyes, it’s a defense strategy, it’s a hyper vigilance. And when you go to a doctor, and he gives you a nearsighted prescription, he is only spitting out what you’re coming in with. He is measuring and reinforcing the adaptive response that you are doing to yourself. That’s all an eye exam does with lens prescriptions. Now, if you can’t handle hearing that, or that triggers you like, Oh, come on, I don’t want to deal with that, Hey, I am not the right person for you. And in mainstream I care, there are so many eye doctors will correct your acuity to 2020 with a lens, and you can be on your way, I’m not the guy for you. So anyways, we had a heart to heart talk. And he went away for about six months. And I got an email from him about six months later. And he said, You know, I went to my eye doctor the other day.
And instead of my prescription being minus seven, he actually measured me at minus four. And I was able to see the eye chart at 2020. And the eye doctor was dumbfounded by this because he thought that he had made a mistake, and the records that he had been keeping for me. And I had to explain to him that I was that he was doing this this vision work with me. And he was actually doing it on his own, because he hadn’t, you know, been in touch with me. And the eye doctor basically just scoffed at him. And he walked out of the exam room. Didn’t want to hear it.
So the guy now is in a minus four prescription. He passed his driver’s test. And he was one of the few that took my advice and realize that he has to do the work. So the mindset is that if you’re going to embark on a vision improvement journey, either with me or somebody else, to expect to make changes by starting to wear reduce prescription isn’t going to work. In fact, it’s the reverse. You have to do the RE education process first. It’s really about self awareness, and learning about your habits, conditioning, and adaptive responses that are creating the prescription in the eyes. So take it to heart. It’s an important lesson. I only say it maybe seven times a week on all my social media channels, but nobody seems to listen. They just want the quick fix. And my stuff is not quick fix. You got to be in it for the long haul. So that’s my show for today. I want to thank you so much for tuning in. Take care.
