Plant-based Diets Lower Risk of Cancer

August 14, 2018 - Eye Health

Hi folks, this is Dr. Sam and I wanted to share some research that highlights how important eating a plant-based diet is, not just for eye health, but for preventing cancer. In this review, the researchers concluded that a plant-based diet that is high in phytochemicals and antioxidants may reduce the risk of developing cancer.

So some foods that include these phytochemicals include things like:

  • cruciferous vegetables
  • avocados
  • asparagus
  • green leafy vegetables

Some herbs rich in phytochemicals include:

  • turmeric
  • ginger
  • saffron

So I highly recommend considering adding some of these foods into your diet, as they may serve as a powerful tool for reducing the risk of developing cancer.
