My Heavy Metal Detox Protocol

We can get exposed to heavy metals through our environment and our immune systems are obviously getting really challenged. These are causing symptoms like headaches, sleep problems, digestive issues, anxiety, hypertension, depression, memory issues, kidney problems, muscle weakness, anemia, impaired fertility, tinnitus, and light sensitivity. Hey everybody, Dr. Sam, I’d like to welcome you to another EyeClarity Podcast. Today I’m going to take a question from a gentleman who’s been following me for a long time. His question is, what is my heavy metal detox protocol using essential oils? Well, I want to start off by saying that I don’t think that toxicity levels have ever been higher. Water, food, air, our immune systems are obviously getting really challenged. And we can get exposed to heavy metals through our environment. And it’s important to also know that old Mercury dental fillings, cooking utensils, household products, being exposed to plastics, drinking connect contaminated water. Eating farmed fish are all sources of heavy metal exposure. Some of the more common heavy metal toxins include things like mercury, copper, aluminum, and lead, and unknowingly, most people are building up heavy metals in their bloodstream and their urine.

And these are causing symptoms like headaches, sleep problems, digestive issues, anxiety, hypertension, depression, memory issues, kidney problems, muscle weakness, anemia, impaired fertility, tinnitus, and light sensitivity. So after studying functional medicine, taking lots of courses, learning from different experts, I find that there’s some tests that patients can do that are helpful. And as you know, one of my teachers used to say, there are many ways up the mountain, choose one that works for you. And take that path. And I’m referring to which test might be the best one for you, I don’t know. It’s all dependent on your circumstances, what your symptoms are, what your genetics are, what your lifestyle is, like, things, things of that nature.

So I’m going to go through very briefly, the tests that are possible, and you get to choose. First of all, there’s a urine test, which is called a cellular energy profile. And this can evaluate up to 14 organic acids, and it provides well, it provides a snapshot on what’s going on on a cellular level, it can also show metabolic distress. And it is very effective at uncovering what your toxic exposure might be your nutrient imbalance, your digestive dysfunction, and your kidney health. Then there’s the conventional blood tests that look at things like your cholesterol levels, your HDL and LDL levels, your C reactive proteins, I like to test things like homocysteine. But anyways, a blood analysis conventionally is also a good thing to get. If you want to go a little deeper and blood analysis, there’s some holistic doctors to do something called a dark field microscopy. And this evaluates the individual blood cells through a microscope that’s projected on a screen and this is measuring your live blood. And although this is not FDA approved, I found this test can be invaluable for diagnosing things like Candida endocrine imbalances, poor metabolism, and of course, heavy metal toxicity.

Then the last, a test that I suggest would be a hair mineral analysis. So this can be called elemental tissue analysis, and it provides a reading on your mineral ratio levels within a two to three period snapshot. And it’s a sensitive test that again tells us what’s going on on cell level, it can reveal long standing imbalances, way before a blood test does. And it looks at the mineral ratios as a way to infer what’s going on in the entire body. It’s simple, it’s non invasive, but it is a screening test and it’s not intended for diagnostic disease, but it can and show heavy metal toxicities in the hair. So now let’s move to the work of aromatherapy. I mean, there are a lot of ways that you can do detoxification. But one of my favorites is chelating these toxins out of the body using essential oils. So first of all, the company that you work with is very important not to say that some of the more mainstream companies that are multi level marketing, I do find that their essential oils are very consistent. And if they work for you, all the better. In fact, the rule of thumb is find a company or companies that you are compatible with, you’ve tried their oils, you’re getting results, they feel good on your body, that’s actually the most important thing.

Next, in terms of applications, you know, there is there’s definitely a kind of a controversy out there among, say, the more conservative aromatherapist, which say you never put concentrated essential oils on your skin directly. And then in the school that I learned from, actually, it’s a great idea to put essential oils on your skin provided that you do a test patch, and you make sure that the oils are not going to be irritating you or overwhelming your system if you are in a detoxification process. And there are four main ways that you can get these essential oils into your body. The first is topical application. So this is directly on the skin. Now the skin is one of the largest organs of the body. And it’s a place where toxins can easily be released via our perspiration. And if we’re doing things that really oxygen oxygenate the cells, then what happens is you’re pushing the toxins out of these hidden areas of the tissue. And it’s going to show up as rashes or skin irritation for you know, maybe a few hours or a day. And this actually is a way to release toxins from the body. And in the process of using aromatherapy, you can either either put it, say on the major lymph areas like you know where your neck is below the ears, that’s kind of where the vagus nerve is. You can also do it on the soles of your feet. That’s another place which is pretty safe in terms of the skin. But you must do a test patch, I like to do it on the inside part of my wrist below the wrist in that area. So I might put a drop there and I watch to see what the reaction is to my skin.

And in applying this protocol that I’m going to give you in the next minute or two, you’re going to layer the essential oils two to three drops. Of these four oils twice a day is a great protocol to excrete toxins out of the body. Now, if your system is overwhelmed, or you’re getting some skin irritation. Another way that you can do it is by diffusing the essential oils because when you diffuse the essential oils in the air, you’re getting it in through your respiratory system, you’re creating negative ions which fresh in the air inhibit bacterial growth, it increases oxygen flow through the respiratory system. And it promotes detoxification. And you could use any one of these oils in the diffuser during your workday and you could use a new oil each day to purify the air in your environment.

Now the third way to do it is internally where you can actually get essential oils that are made in capsule form and you can ingest them, but you should check with your doctor before you embark on an internal process with the essential oils. Okay, so my top four for excreting and creating a detoxification process number one, grapefruit, the essential oil grapefruit. This helps cleanse the liver it stimulates the lymph system. It’s a natural detoxification agent. It’s a natural anti microbial agent. So I would start with that one that would be number one. The first one you put on your on your body, followed by cedar wood Atlas. Now this is from a tree and so it’s very grounding. It’s gentle, it’s stimulating at the same time, that it’s gentle and it helps break down and eliminate toxins in the body. It also has a natural anti inflammatory and antiseptic quality. You know, I love to put Cedarwood Atlas around my adrenals kidneys, so that goes in my back. And by the way, although you can layer the oils, one on top of the other, you can also put them on different parts of your body as well. Again, you can rapid fire you do, you know two to three drops of grapefruit, two to three to four drops of Cedarwood Atlas. All right, the next one I love is phenol, sometimes called Sweet fennel.

This is a purifier of the bloodstream cleanses the kidneys, and it helps get rid of the body of heavy metals uric acid and other toxic substances. It’s actually part of my I protocol, where we use phenol carrot seed and frankincense around the eyes. And I find that fennel is really wonderful as a way to improve digestion and get rid of heavy metals in the body. So that would be number three. And number four, the essential oil cilantro. Now we we cook with this, the cilantro is known for its heavy metal detoxification properties. It’s also got a lot of antioxidants to get rid of free radicals. And so those are the four again that was summarizing grapefruit, Cedarwood, Atlas, phenol, and cilantro. Stay tuned for the end and I will recommend my top two companies, but I want to make a couple of final points. I also recommend adding to either your supplementation or your diet fully. Vitamin B six and 12 and sulfur containing foods like onions, kale, garlic, and collards as these will enhance your liver function. And this is very supportive. And then finally, I would consider doing more cardio exercise, maybe a infrared sauna. These are all things that can help accelerate the release of of heavy metals from the body. So the two companies that I recommend and use of course, these are non multi level marketing. They’re small boutique companies, they test their oils, very high integrity, I use them both. One is called Stillpoint aromatics. And this is located in Sedona, Arizona. Those folks are fantastic. They actually presented at my home health summit in January. And they’re just great people. The second company is called Lotus garden botanicals. And again, they test their oils. They’re very high integrity. Very

I would say just just really great people to work with and their website is easy to navigate. So those would be the two companies that I recommend. My final point is that we’re all being exposed to heavy metals. It’s inevitable in our environment. And using essential oils regularly and daily is a gentle way to help your body returned to balance and harmony. So that’s my show for today. I want to thank you so much for tuning in.
