September 8, 2019 - Macular Degeneration
…and the eyes are the organ of light. The currency that we used to see with is light. And when we have a problem with our eyes, our retinas are not giving the light into the photo receptors, for a variety of reasons.
So in stargardt’s, this is a condition that affects what we call our macula. And a lot of people today are developing what we call macular degeneration, and stargardt’s can be a form of macular degeneration. So what’s going on is the macular makes up less than 1 percent of the real estate in our retina. Less than 1 percent! But it’s our focal vision where we identify. But we become so over identified, and the macula is also our rational thinking, that we get benefits when I give you the right answer. When I’m in my rational thinking. That’s the macula.
But that other ninety nine percent is lost. So in stargardt’s or any macular problem, what we need to begin to do is open up our vision and we don’t even know how much we can open up our vision, but I’m going to show you how to do that. And within 15 to 30 seconds you’re going to notice a change. So we’ll do that in a minute. The other thing about the macula stargardt’s is that you want to make sure you’re getting something called carotenoids. And this buzz word has to do with those green leafy vegetables and the rainbow diet – things called lutein, zeaxanthin, and aztaxanthin. Those are critical for your macular health. And there’s an underlying thing in your intestinal health that if you’re not absorbing properly – so you’re in the right place here with the probiotics and the microbiome – is that if you can reduce your inflammation systemically, improve your thyroid health, your adrenal health, make sure you’re really getting massive amounts of the lutein, zeaxanthin, and aztaxanthin, and you do some eye exercises, at the very least you can neutralize the stargardt’s effect. And at the most, if the cells are not dead, this is where the neuroplasticity comes in, and you can repair.
