Graves’ Disease

September 8, 2019 - Dry-Eye

Hey everyone, it’s Dr. Sam – received a great question today: Graves’ Disease and eye health. So Graves’ is an autoimmune disease that causes hypothyroidism and this can create bulging eyes, dryness, redness, [and] irritation. I recommend using homeopathic eye drops four to eight times a day, massaging castor oil eye drops into the eyelids at night, and then working with a functional medicine or naturopathic doctor to improve dietary absorption and get rid of toxicities.

On a lifestyle level, reducing stress – visual stress – and also stress in the body. So there are many things that you can do to neutralize the symptoms of Graves’ Disease, and if you use a more holistic approach sometimes you can reduce the medication.

So I hope that’s helpful. It’s a great question. Thank you so much.
