November 3, 2017 - Eye Exercises
Purpose
Eye massages release stress in the eye muscles, improve lymph flow, and open up your peripheral vision. They also improve eye circulation and blood flow in all the eye tissues.
Equipment Needed
Clean hands and a quiet place to sit
When to perform
2 minutes each eye, 3 times a day or when you feel your eyes need it most
How to Perform
1) This exercise can be performed before you go to sleep at night while lying on your back.
2) Sit quietly and relax with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
3) Close your eyes and feel your eyes as a baseline measurement
4) Take 6 slow deep breaths in and out of your nose to calms your nerves.
5) Place your first three fingers over your closed eyes, palms touching your cheek, using a light touch.
6) Breath in and then make a humming sound with your mouth closed and focus on the vibration of the sound while you exhale
7) Repeat this humming sound for 12 slow exhales.
8) Then, place your palms over your closed eyes, and imagine your eyes floating in the eye sockets. Do this visualization technique for 2 minutes.
9) Then, slowly remove your hands and slowly open your eyes.
