Best Foods for Omega 3 Fatty Acids

March 12, 2019 - Nutrition

Hey folks, it’s Dr. Sam. Good morning! I’m on my walk today, and I received a question: What are the best foods for omega 3 fatty acids?

Well, let me run down the list:

  • Chia seeds
  • Walnuts
  • Flax seeds
  • Sardines
  • Mackerel
  • Wild caught salmon.

For folks who like to supplement with omega-3s, be sure that you’re getting enough DHA. Usually, DHA and EPA are both in omega-3 supplements, but in particular, DHA is most needed and it has some really great benefits for your eyes, brain, and neurological health.

I also recommend to do your research and choose a company that does independent 3rd party testing and uses sustainable practices while collecting and manufacturing their supplements.

That’s my message for today. Thank you so much for tuning in. And until next time, take good care.
