Benefits of Pomegranate

Hey, good morning folks, it’s Dr. Sam.

I want to tell you what I had for breakfast today. I had some coconut yogurt and I took some pomegranate concentrate and dehydrated almonds and it was a fabulous breakfast.

So I want to talk a little bit about pomegranate juice. UCLA actually did a study and they ranked pomegranate juice #1. I’m not surprised because pomegranate juice is packed with things like phosphorus, manganese, and magnesium folate. It’s also got something in it called beta-carotene, which is really good for our eyes.

Now if you’re going to do pomegranate juice I would get the 100 percent pure pomegranate juice, so you don’t want to add anything that would dilute it. I actually will sometimes take pomegranate seeds and I’ll put it in my Vitamix as part of my morning smoothie. It’s versatile, it tastes great, and it offers us many wonderful benefits in terms of our health.

Some things you want to watch out for would be if you’re taking blood thinners, have low blood pressure, or you’re taking statins, I would check in with your doctor before you start drinking pomegranate juice. But overall I give it five stars. It’s fantastic. Check it out. It’s really good.
