Hey folks, it’s Dr. Sam and I’m on a morning hike having a fabulous day. I just took a swig of Kombucha, which is one of my go-to health elixirs for getting probiotics into my body.
Today I want to talk about the benefits of kombucha. It’s packed with B vitamins, enzymes, and probiotics. It’s great for your immune system, gut health, heart health, liver health, and it’s an antibacterial and it’s one of my gotos in terms of a health elixir and getting probiotics into my body.
Now the way you make kombucha is you use black tea, cane sugar, and a combination of healthy bacteria and yeast, which we call a SCOBY. Now I make my own kombucha and I love doing it because then it’s homemade. I keep it in the refrigerator and I drink a little bit every day.
One of the things you want to be careful about is that if you drink a lot of it it can actually affect your teeth. So what I do when I drink kombucha is I’ll take a little bit of peppermint put it in some water and swish it around in my mouth and that’ll kind of get out any of the sugar that’s maybe left on my teeth. Also for some people if they they drink a lot of Kombucha it can create dizziness or nausea. So I would start with a little bit.
Check it out. If you’re going to drink commercial kombucha I would go with the unpasteurized kombucha. But in terms of my overall probiotic health, Kombucha is a great health elixir that tastes fabulous.
So I’m looking at my map I have about eight miles to go back to my car so I better get on it. But thanks for tuning in today and until next time take good care.
