Hey folks, it’s Dr. Sam and for those of you that have been following me for a while, you know I talk about the benefits of glutathione.
Today I’m going to give you six ways to boost your glutathione levels in your body.
But before I do that, I want to point you to a research paper published in 2014 in Integrative Medicine. The authors looked at many research studies and concluded that glutathione supports a wide range of things, like our immune health,
It also plays an important role in mitochondria function and reducing the effects of aging.
Eat Sulfur-Rich Foods
If you consume animal products, this includes things like grass-fed beef and organic chicken. In plant-based foods, this includes cruciferous and leafy green vegetables.
Eat Selenium-Rich Foods
Selenium is a trace mineral and studies have shown that selenium can actually boost the thyroid levels. A great source of selenium
Consume Vitamin C
This would be things like your citrus fruits – kiwis, oranges, etc. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and has also been shown to improve thyroid health.
Supplement with Milk Thistle
This is an herbal formula and has been shown to enhance glutathione levels.
Consume Tumeric
Turmeric delivers something called curcumin, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent and is a fantastic complement to a healthful diet.
Get 20 Minutes of Aerobic Exercise Daily
This is a foundational habit that is absolutely critical for overall health. Consistent exercise brings a host of benefits, which includes improved metabolic health.
So my takeaway is to make sure you’re supporting your bodies ability to produce glutathione. There is a mountain of evidence that illustrates the important role glutathione plays in our overall health and eye health.
So that’s my message for today. Thank you so much for tuning in. And until next time take good care.
