4 Reasons Why Rotating your Diet is Healthy

There are four good reasons why you want to rotate your diet.

  1. The first reason is that you want to open yourself up to a wider variety of nutrients. Let’s say, for example, you eat cashews and pine nuts. These are great sources of magnesium, but I would rotate your diet to include sunflower seeds and hazelnuts, which have high amounts of Vitamin E.
  2. In the International Journal of Epidemiology, there was a study showed people who ate 16 to 17 different kinds of food in their diet had a 42% lower mortality rate than people who ate zero to eight different kinds of food. So you’re increasing your longevity by rotating your foods.
  3. There was a study done in the Nutrition Research and Professional Journal which said that if you rotate your foods, you have a lower risk of developing conditions like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
  4. When you rotate your diet, you increase the good bacteria in your body – we call it the microbiome. The microbiome plays a critical role in our immune system to prevent acute and chronic diseases.

It’s also good to rotate your vitamins and supplements as well. Work with your doctor on these rotations. For example, you could spend 3 months taking supplements that are focused on improving the cardiovascular system, 3 months on supplements for reproductive health, 3 months on supplements for the central nervous system (the brain and eyes), and so forth.

In conclusion, when you rotate your vitamins and foods, there’s a great chance you will improve your overall wellness and vitality.
